Cheyenne has been involved in a ton on new things lately! I wanted to share a few pictures of her involved in discovering her new abilities.
She is doing very well. Her last pediatrician’s appointment went well - she is 16.5 pounds and 27.5 inches!
Hope you enjoy the pictures! I’m also looking to get some new video up soon.
Cheyenne’s momma was very happy to finally be able to put a bow in her hair!
During our last snowstorm, we bundled Cheyenne up and let her sit out in the snow for just a few minutes. As you can tell from her smile, she enjoyed it immensely! However, that smile only lasted until she fell over face-first into the snow. Then, she wasn’t having fun anymore…
Yep, Cheyenne is doing a lot of standing up now! She is so strong, she amazes us. She pulls herself up on just about anything she can get her hands on. She’s even starting to try to take steps by herself while holding on to a chair! She amazes us more every day.
This is what she started doing the other day…
I tried to post this the other night, but YouTube kept messing up. So here it is again!
Cheyenne has been struggling with ear infections for the last few weeks. She has barely been out of the house, especially since the cold weather has hit, and she is still having problems. She is on her second round of antibiotics, we’re going to have to make another appointment tomorrow or Monday because she just doesn’t seem to be getting any better.
I know its part of it, but its tough watching her tug at her ears and cry. Tonight, she was even whimpering while she was sleeping. I feel bad for her.
Other than that, though, she has been doing very well. She is growing like a weed! She is going to be tall, I think. She’s already wearing some 9-months clothes because she is too tall for most of the smaller clothes. But the trade-off is that they are too big around on her, so Nikki continues to rotate through all the bags of clothes that people were so generous to give us to keep Cheyenne in outfits that fit her!
The really exciting thing is that she’s almost got crawling down! I hope to post a video very soon with her crawling across the floor. She has been “scooting” for a while now, but she is now getting up totally on her hands and knees and making inches of progress before she’s too tired to continue. I think she’ll have it mastered in a couple more days.
Thank you for continuing to check in! Hopefully we’ll get this ear infection licked, and move on to the next childhood milestone!
Today was Cheyenne’s six month check-up with the pediatrician. She is now 14 pounds, 6.5 ounces, and 26.5 inches long! She is growing very well, and keeping up with the growth curve. The doctor was very pleased. He even took her off of the preemie formula she has been eating since we brought her home. She had been eating Similac Neosure, but now will take Similac Advanced.
On a not-so-positive note, Cheyenne does have an ear infection. She has to take a course of antibiotics to clear it up. She had been fussy lately and not sleeping as well, so we thought she was still having trouble teething. But, unfortunately, it was an ear infection. She hadn’t really shown the typical symptoms, so we didn’t suspect that. She has to return to the pediatrician in 10 days for a follow-up.
Overall, he was quite satisfied, which we were happy to hear!
Here are a couple of recent pictures of Cheyenne from a few days ago. We took her to the apple orchard to pick apples, and she had a blast!
Cheyenne is already six months old! She is doing so well. She is healthy and happy, and growing like a weed! We are so blessed that God answered all of the prayers offered on her behalf, and we are humbled that He saw fit to help her (and us!).
This is a recent picture of Cheyenne taken with her cousin Skylar.
We were able to take Cheyenne to see my grandparents for the first time last weekend. They really enjoyed getting to meet her, and Cheyenne got along very well with them, despite feeling a little under the weather.
We took a lot of pictures that I hope to be able to post soon, but in the meantime, please enjoy the video of Cheyenne and her great-grandpa. He was singing to her, and it was just a priceless moment that I am fortunate to have captured on video. Please ignore the background conversations and just focus on the two of them.
Cheyenne is 5-months old today! We are so proud of her… but you probably couldn’t tell that from all the pictures…
We took Cheyenne down to the playground today, and she had a blast! She even fussed a little when we left to go home. I thought I would share a video of Cheyenne on her ‘birthday.’ Enjoy! Oh, and please ignore the whole conversation Nikki and I had… I don’t know why we kept talking…
Feel free to just mute the sound… probably better that way!
Thanks to Uncle Justin and Aunt Laura for the toy she is standing up in!
I wanted to post some new pictures of Cheyenne that were taken by Andrea Thomas, a member of the church at Daugherty Street in Charleston, WV, where Nikki’s mom and dad attend. She did a great job, and we appreciate the pictures. Enjoy!
Hope you enjoyed!
Thanks to Andrea!
