Cheyenne’s World

I talked to Aaron a little while ago, and he said they are still on track to go home today. They are having to get all the technicalities set up so that they can be released. There are so many doctors involved, it seems a bit difficult to get everything arranged. He had to get a Pediatrician set up at home, and get them in touch with the doctors at the NICU. So, they are still heading home, it is just going to be a bit later than the 11:00 time that they gave them earlier. So, Lord willing, they will still be home by this afternoon, or this evening.

My dad sent me a few more pictures last night, but unfortunately I didn’t get them till this morning. They have been able to dress little Cheyenne up a bit, and boy does she look cute in her little red dress!

That is one proud Papaw in the pictures up there. I’m glad they are getting some good pictures to share with us, and I hope they get some good ones today as they are heading for home!

EDIT:  I just got a call from my dad, and Cheyenne has been released from the hospital!  They are on their way home, and should be there in just a little bit.  I can’t wait for Aaron to post on here that they are home safe and sound.  More pictures to come, hopefully this evening!

I just got some pictures in from my dad. There are a few pics showing Cheyenne with just the oxygen tubes, and then a couple with NO TUBES!!!! I was so excited to see her with no tubes. We haven’t had any pics like that since she was in the delivery room. It is such great news that she is doing so well. Here are the pics:

Keep on praying for Cheyenne! Hopefully she will be able to go home tomorrow if all keeps going as well as it has been for the last few days. I know that Aaron and Nikki are ready to take her home. And remember, Nikki hasn’t been home in over 2 months!

Here are two more very short videos that my dad took of Aaron and Nikki getting to hold, and rock, Cheyenne. The third is from a couple of days ago after they removed the ventilator, and put Cheyenne on her belly for the first time.  They are all  available on Shawn’s YouTube account. Edit: I just found this video of Cheyenne on Shawn’s YouTube Page, so I thought I would share it. This is a video of Cheyenne crying, which is quite significant, since she hadnt been able to do it since she was in the delivery room. It is so good to hear it!

I thought I would share some of the pictures, and a video that I took on Tuesday. I know a lot has changed since these were taken, but at least you can get an idea of some of the improvements she has been making. In this video, you can see her sucking vigorously on her pacifier:

Here are some more pictures from Tuesday as well. The blue tint is because Cheyenne is still under the Billiruben light. Aaron said last night that she was still under the light at least part of the time, but that they would probably take that off soon. I hope to have some more updated pictures soon. I know that my dad, and sister-in-law (that’s Aunt Suzy to Cheyenne) are taking lots of pictures, so maybe they will send them to me soon (hint…hint…hint…) Remember to click on the pictures to see bigger versions, if you would like to!

In this picture, you can see she is still wearing her sunglasses. You can also see the pacifier that fell from her mouth when she went to sleep.

Here is a picture of Cheyenne’s foot. You can see just how small her feet are. That is Mamaw holding her foot up so that we could get a good picture. For those related to us, you may notice that “Daines’ Toe” there on the left.

This may be my favorite picture so far. Aaron asked me to take a picture of Cheyenne holding on to his finger. She has a great grip, and loves to hold on to any finger that will stay there and let her do it. She held my finger for about 30 minutes, until I had to leave the other day! This shows just how small her hands are. Her fingers are not long enough to reach around Aaron’s finger!

Here is a video that we took of Cheyenne so that Nikki could see her before she was able to get out of bed following the delivery. I know that it may be difficult for some folks to see such a little baby in a condition like this, but others have liked being able to see her, and know who they are praying for.
